Milestones & misses is a site that publishes feature articles celebrating sportsmen and sportswomen achieving milestones such as:

• Playing 100 games in the AFL (Australian Football League) or WNBL (Women’s National Basketball League)

•  Winning a club or league best & fairest or MVP

• Representing Australia at a major Championships (Olympic Games or World Championships).

In sport as with life in general it is common that milestones are only achieved after overcoming adversity, so whilst articles on this site celebrate achieving milestones they will also cover the misses along the journey, such as a player not being selected by their club or playing minimal game-time, spending a prolonged period on the sidelines due to injury, or missing a critical shot at goal.

Milestones & misses will focus on three teams in particular, the St Kilda Football Club in the AFL, the Jayco Dandenong Rangers in the WNBL and Australia’s Women’s National Basketball Team, the Opals.

Australian Rules Football

• Feature articles celebrating players from the St Kilda Football Club reaching a milestone of 100 AFL games or more including at least 40 games for the Saints. The milestone games articles will comprehensively cover the player’s entire career from before they made their AFL debut up until their milestone game.

• An article on St Kilda’s best & fairest winner comprehensively covering their outstanding b & f winning season and summarising the rest of their AFL career.
• An article on the AFL’s Brownlow Medallist, comprehensively covering their phenomenal season that resulted in them winning the AFL’s highest individual honour, and summarising the rest of their AFL career. 

• Feature articles comprehensively covering the careers of retired AFL players

Basketball

• Feature articles celebrating players from the Jayco Dandenong Rangers reaching a milestone of 100 WNBL games or more including at least 40 games for the Rangers. The milestone games articles will comprehensively cover the player’s entire career from their WNBL debut up until their milestone game.

• An article on the winner of the Dandenong Rangers season MVP, comprehensively covering their magnificent club MVP winning season and summarising the rest of their basketball career.

• An article on the WNBL’s MVP, comprehensively covering their incredible season that resulted in them winning the WNBL’s highest individual honour, and summarising the rest of their basketball career. 

• Feature articles on members of the Australian Opals, covering their career with club(s) in the WNBL and/or Europe/America/Asia and their international career with the Australian Opals.
